Somebody <3s the Manhattan Bridge bike path
Took a couple photos on my ride over two East River bridges this morning.
Someone has painted red hearts on each of the stenciled bike lane symbols on the Manhattan Bridge:

And speaking of paint, the resurfaced Williamsburg Bridge path has new paint on the north side!

Get ready to use southern Manhattan Bridge path
You might’ve heard about another round of repair work set to begin on the Manhattan Bridge in the coming months. Word is that the bike path on the north side of the bridge (which is being used more and more by commuters) will close for up to eight months during the construction — and bicycles will have to share the south path with pedestrians.
I decided to take a ride up to the bridge today to take a look at the south path entrance in DUMBO, because, honestly, I had no idea where it is.
It’s easy to find — from Sands Street, just follow the path next to Jay Street on the bridge side. It loops around into a courtyard that is currently under construction and that leads up to the bridge path.
Here’s a map:

And here are a couple photos — one from the path looking back to Sands Street, and another of the courtyard that leads up to the path:
