Brooklyn Bike Links: Week 12
(Bedford Avenue Bike Lane Saga edition. Gothamist and Streetsblog have done a great job covering this!)
- 12:7: In the wee hours of the morning, rogue Brooklyn cyclists apparently re-paint the bike lane, but are caught by the Shomrim Patrol — and eventually served summonses by police.
- 12/8: Video surfaces of the alleged re-painters in action.
- 12/10: Mayor Bloomberg goes to Copenhagen for the climate conference — and angry Brooklyn cyclists say they’ll be waiting.
- 12:10: Time’s Up plans a New Orleans-style funeral procession and vigil for the bike lane.
- 12/11: DOT removes the bike lane (again…)
And last but not least, here are three opinions on the bike lane removal from the Daily News, The Yeshiva World and The Brooklyn Paper.
