• 12/1: DOT sandblasts 14 blocks of bike lane on Bedford Avenue.

• 12:7: In the wee hours of the morning, rogue Brooklyn cyclists apparently re-paint the bike lane, but are caught by the Shomrim Patrol — and eventually served summonses by police.
• 12/8: Video surfaces of the alleged re-painters in action.
• 12/10: Mayor Bloomberg goes to Copenhagen for the climate conference — and angry Brooklyn cyclists say they’ll be waiting.
• 12:10: Time’s Up plans a New Orleans-style funeral procession and vigil for the bike lane.
• 12/11: DOT removes the bike lane (again…)

• The bike-selling business is booming in this tough economy, WNYC reports. Owner of Ride Brooklyn in Park Slope interviewed.
• Another big jump in bike commuting traffic in NYC this year. It’s good news, GOOD magazine blog reports!
• An exhibit called “A History of Cycling in Brooklyn” is on display at the Brooklyn Historical Society (via Bike Blog NYC).
• Report of a “Beer, Bike, Brooklyn” tour last weekend. Sounds fun, but… six beers?? Hmm…
• Construction is set to begin again after the New Year on the Manhattan Bridge, and the north side bike path might be closing for up to eight months, the NY Times reports. (See Brooklyn Cyclist report here…)
