They’re also extending the Hoyt Street bike lane (which runs in the opposite direction) farther south in the Cobble Hill / Boerum Hill area.

And Gothamist has a nifty little map where the lanes will be added.

There are some great blog posts and photos up from last night’s Red Hook Criterium in Brooklyn. Only wish I could have gone myself!

Streetsblog reports on some great news (!) for those of us who often make the two-wheel trip from North to South Brooklyn. Flushing Avenue is the logical connector between the Kent Avenue bike lane and Sands Street/DUMBO. I don’t find it to be too bad of a route because traffic is light, however it’s a little scary when a car flies past at 50+ mph.

Can’t wait to see how this turns out.

Spring is in the air! C’mon ladies, there’s gotta be someone out there willing to give this chap a chance!

UPDATE: I guess humor and sarcasm don’t always come through in blog format… In no way am I vouching for this guy’s personality and general trustworthiness. He might be totally sketchy for all I know. I just thought it was a fun post!

I can’t figure this out: Is this guy/girl looking to trade the broken laptop for a bike? Or will he give away his adult bike to someone who can fix his laptop? Hmm…

(For the record, I’m not interested in either the bike or the laptop. I just thought this post was funny.)

Never been, but sounds awesome. Event info on Facebook.

They want improved crossings of Flatbush and Atlantic Aves., and better access to bridges.

R u serious??

Streetsblog has the scoop on this — and much more intelligent commentary than I do.

(Reminds me of when I got a court summons for riding my bike on the Coney Island boardwalk last summer. Oh the memories…)

I think I heard my bike breath a sigh of relief this morning…
