Brooklyn Cyclist

Fifty miles of #bikenyc pedaling today. Carroll Gardens to Summer Streets, then out to Fort Tilden and back. Love that post-ride dull muscle ache.

On first Summer Streets of 2010, a Joy Ride!

A big thanks to the NYC DOT and everyone else who helped hand over Park Avenue and Lafayette Street to bikers and pedestrians today — the first Summer Streets of the summer! If you missed it today, make sure you take a ride next Saturday, or the Saturday after that.

I was lucky enough to get a spot on today’s Joy Ride, a bike ride set to music that ended with a delicious picnic in Central Park. It was fantastic.

Here are some photos from the ride.

This is one of the slotRadio players they gave us with the ride soundtrack created by Duncan Bridgeman:

This is about half of us stopped at an intersection:

How awesome is this picnic setup?
